Tech Update

Hi HZNation,

We are thrilled to update you on our tech project’s progress based on our 2023 roadmap. Our team has been working diligently to bring new and exciting features to our platform.

Here is a breakdown of our progress by the 3 main parts:

Smart Contracts
Horizon Protocol V2 — Front End
Security Audit

Regarding our smart contract development, we have made significant progress toward aligning our execution with the 2023 roadmap. In addition to our last tech update, we are improving several core protocol systems, including an improved liquidation mechanism that will further improve the robustness of the protocol, a tokenized debt tracking system that allows for cross-chain debt accounting, and a direct swapping mechanism for Horizon Exchange that allows users to swap directly between any pair of zAssets instead of going through zUSD only.

Furthermore, we are also developing the necessary protocol keepers and subgraphs for the upcoming futures exchange and other features mentioned in our tech updates.

In terms of the Horizon Protocol V2 — Front End, we have completed preliminary designs and implemented the core structure for merging all Dapps into one unified platform. We are now working on the final modifications of the design and the page-by-page code implementations.

As we aim to be well-placed to offer special and competitive solutions that focus on user experience (UX) and help bridge the Web 2.0 experience with the Web 3.0 world, community feedback is crucial to helping the project achieve that, we are excited to share some new designs previews in the coming weeks.

Lastly, we are on track to submit the security audit in Q2 and are finalizing the codebase for it.

Once most of the above work is completed, we will deploy brand new testnet environments with the old and new contracts and front ends to rehearse deployments and have everyone help us test everything.

We are on the cusp of an exciting new era at Horizon Protocol (V2)! As we gear up for our feature-release season, we will also create the necessary documentation for Horizon Academy to help guide users through this new world.
